CANCER AND YOUR PETS: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Almost everyone has known a friend or loved one who has been affected by cancer. While cancer in humans is definitely prevalent, our pets are also afflicted with this disease.
According to Dr. Heather Wilson, assistant professor of oncology at the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, 50 percent of all dogs and 30 percent of all cats over the age of 10 will be diagnosed with some form of cancer.

UNDERSTANDING HOT-BLOODED HORSES

While the Method works on all types of horses, every horse will require you to vary your approach slightly. I break horses into two broad groups – hot-blooded horses and cold-blooded horses.
Breeds like Arabians, Thoroughbreds and some bloodlines of Quarter Horses tend to be hot-blooded. These horses are generally very reactive, sensitive and intelligent. They love to go and move forward.

Consistency paid ultimate dividends for veteran steer roper Scott Snedecor. The Fredericksburg, Texas, cowboy won the average with 104.1-second time on nine head which vaulted him to his third world championship at the 2017 Clem McSpadden National Finals Steer Roping at the Kansas Star Arena.

Folks painted it pink, pink outfits, painted horses and decorated stalls to raise awareness for Breast Cancer month. Our Pinkest youth entry went to Jordan Fluegel, from McAllen, TX on her Welsh pony Kawanza, he is a gelding, so boys can wear pink. Adult pinkest award went to Dana Gomez, Dilley, TX riding palomino gelding Indian’s Frosted Proposal.
